Purchased in 1993, Steve Hynes envisioned Lamplighter, a family community with fun in mind. Once an area for campers on the Saco River, today we are a fulltime, residential Community with much in the area to offer.

The Mount Washington Valley highly values the education of their Community members and their families as an integral part of one's success. With a variety of education from primary, secondary, and higher education, the Valley will combine hands on events and classroom activities to broaden the horizons of all in the Valley Community. In addition to offering an array of educational opportunities, the fun and adventure involved activities are more than plentiful. Always a family event scheduled in the Valley, this Community loves attendance and encourages it. Fireworks, outdoor concerts, guided tours, train rides, and many NH attractions, a family ride in the Valley will net you a cornucopia of family activity!

Multi-Talented, highly valued artists and athlete's originate from the Mount Washington Valley. We've had the pleasure of producing pioneers discovering the never seen before trails, world class skiers, and world class musical, instrumental and comic entertainers. Lamplighter is in the heart of what these folks call their pallet. From the world over our Mountains are traveled, our roads are ridden by manpower and motor power, our rivers are visited by foot, by kayak and canoe. Craftsmen and artists alike will find many opportunities to create within Nature's Playground.
